Sun, Screens, and Study!

Hello, Amazing Parents!

I hope you’re all enjoying the summer sunshine! 🌞 It's the perfect time for some fun in the sun, but if you’re anything like me, you might be battling the ever-present challenge of gadgets and social media with our kids. It’s almost as if their thumbs are glued to their screens!

Let’s dive into some thoughts and tips on how we can navigate this digital playground together.

Gadgets: Friend or Foe?

Gadgets are everywhere! From tablets to smartphones, they’re practically an extra limb for our kiddos these days. And while they can be a great way for our kids to learn and explore, we all know how quickly screen time can spiral into an all-day event.

Tip for Balance:

Let’s set some clear boundaries. Consider a “Tech-Free Time” each day—maybe during meals or an hour before bed. This not only helps to limit screen time but also encourages our kids to engage in other activities like reading, playing outside, or (dare I say it?) talking to us!

Social Media: The Double-Edged Sword

Oh, social media... a place where our kids can connect with friends, share their creativity, and (sometimes) get into a little trouble. It’s important to remember that while social media can be a fun and creative outlet, it can also be a source of stress and comparison for our children.

Tip for Monitoring:

Let’s be in the loop! Regularly check in on what platforms your child is using and who they’re interacting with. Open communication is key—let them know you’re there to support and guide them in this digital age. And hey, why not join in on the fun? Creating a family TikTok dance video could be a blast!

The Importance of Summer Reading & Studying

While summer is a time to relax, it’s also crucial to keep those young minds sharp! Studies show that kids can lose a significant amount of what they’ve learned during the school year if they don’t keep up with some form of study over the break. We don’t want all their hard work to go to waste, do we?

Tip for Retention:

Let’s make reading and studying fun! Set aside a little time each day for your child to read a favorite book or tackle some brain-boosting activities. It doesn’t have to feel like school—mix in some educational games or read together as a family to keep it light and engaging.

Exciting News: Mini Courses Every Saturday!

And here’s where I’m about to make your summer even better. 🎉 Every Saturday, we’re offering mini courses focused on sight words, reading, spelling, and vocabulary. These sessions are designed to keep our kids’ skills sharp in a fun and interactive way. Plus, it’s a great opportunity to give them a little extra boost before school starts again.

Why This Is Awesome:

Think of it as a gift to yourself (and your kids). A little structure in the week means they’re learning and having fun, and you get some peace of mind knowing they’re not losing all those precious skills they worked so hard to build. Win-win, right?

Mom Coaching: Because You Deserve It!

And don’t think I’ve forgotten about you, dear parents! We all know that balancing summer fun, gadgets, and keeping up with our kids’ learning can be a handful. That’s why I’m offering Mom Coaching sessions—because sometimes we need a little support, too.

Why You’ll Love It:

Think of it as your personal time to recharge, get some tips, and connect with other moms who totally get what you’re going through. Plus, it’s a great way to ensure you’re feeling your best, so you can keep being the rockstar parent you already are.
