Raising a Champion

Hey There, Wonderful Parents and Guardians!

I hope you're all soaking up the sunshine and making beautiful memories with your kiddos this summer.

I wanted to take a moment to chat about something that's been on my mind lately—raising an advanced child. Do any of you have a little one who's ahead of the curve?

Today, I’m sharing a bit about my daughter, Mya. She’s heading into second grade, but this little superstar is already reading at a fourth-grade level and tackling advanced math like a pro!

As a mom, wife, tutor, coach, and former mental health specialist and special education teacher, I've learned a thing or two about finding that sweet spot between nurturing her incredible talents and making sure she still gets to enjoy the simple pleasures of childhood. Let’s dive into this journey together.

Cherishing the Simple Moments

Do you ever just love those quiet, simple moments with your kids?

One of my favorite things in the world is spending time with my daughters, Jazzy and Mya. We have our special moments—whether it’s baking cookies in the kitchen, getting our hands dirty in the garden, or snuggling up on the couch with a good book. These times together are pure gold. They let us connect, unwind, and make memories that will last a lifetime.

Just the other day, The girls and I decided to bake a cake. Measuring the ingredients, mixing the batter, and of course, sneaking a few tastes—it was all part of the fun! Their eyes sparkled with excitement and curiosity, and in those moments, I saw a perfect blend of learning and pure joy.

How do you like to spend quality time with your kiddos?

Encouraging Active Growth

Do any of your kids have a sport or activity they’re passionate about? Beyond our cozy home activities, Mya also shines in karate. Watching her practice and perfect her moves is nothing short of inspiring. Karate has given her discipline, focus, and resilience—skills that are just as valuable in life as they are in the dojo.

The Beauty of Balance

Finding the right balance between nurturing Mya's academic abilities and letting her be a kid has been key. It’s made her a happier, more well-rounded individual. By encouraging her to explore different interests and engage in playful activities, we’re not just fostering her intellectual growth, but also her creativity and emotional well-being.

Have you found that balancing your child’s advanced skills with fun and play helps them thrive?

A Heartfelt Message to Fellow Parents

To all the amazing parents and guardians out there, remember that while it’s important to support our children’s academic journeys, it’s equally crucial to let them enjoy their childhood. Whether it’s baking, gardening, or simply spending quality time together, these moments play a significant role in their overall development and happiness.

In our tutoring and coaching sessions, we strive to emphasize this balance. We aim to help your children excel in math, literacy, and behavior skills while also encouraging them to follow their hearts and passions. By finding this balance, we can help them grow into well-rounded, happy, and successful individuals.

Do you have any tips or experiences on how to keep this balance? I’d love to hear your thoughts!

Thank you for being a part of our wonderful community. I’m excited to continue this journey with you and your incredible children.

Warm hugs,
